Had a fun dinner with Timmy McCracken last night, more details later.
2012 Gros Frère et Soeur Echezeaux
1982 Angelus
1978 Mouton (badly vinegarized).

The Echezeaux and Angelus were splendid, as was the food and service!

There are BWEers all over the motherland this week.

Was a fun night! It was great hearing about Jim's recent legal victories, as well as the upcoming debate about Lewiston. Shame about the Mouton. One correction, the Angelus was an 82, not an 83.

Great. Too bad for the Sheep.

I need to go to Lewiston before the end of 2017, to see what that fusion with Auburn is all about! I'm against city merging and / or having lobster with red Bordeaux, but can change my mind on both subject with a visit to Maine...

Sitting at a sidewalk cafe here in Paris.
Text from my brother says Batman has died.
I spent a glorious evening with him once, back around 1992, when he was a bit down on his luck.
As sweet, nice, self-effacing a man as you will ever meet.
Au revoir, Adam. Until we meet again.

Jim,

Sitting at a sidewalk cafe in Paris is one of the great pleasures one can have. Enjoy! If you have time, go to La Rotonde and sit outside at the 6-corner intersection and watch Paris go by - like Paula and Jon, as well as Hemingway!

Tim is a gracious host and he drinks like there is no tomorrow. From the looks of it not a bad line up. Angelus is a treat. I may have a bottle of 95 and 98 left, but it has become completely unaffordable with the recent vintages.

Le Gaigne as always. Not many places can do BYOB especially last minute.

Sorry to hear the 78 Mouton was vinegarized. How is the waiter's Cockney rhyming slang coming along Tim? Of course the 1982 Angelus was the wine featured in Casino Royale...

No cockney this time, it was all about how the waiter dreamed of going to Maine and started talking about how he read every Stephen King novel written.

Steve King is a world-wide force. Even in Paris, France.

Sounds like a great time and may be one of the last BWE events hosted by Tim in Paris by the sound of things. Hopefully tradition continues Stateside and good luck Tim.

Thanks Danny, nothing is written in stone yet though, right now it is 50/50. Will keep folks posted.
