A simple red Bordeaux, from the 2011 vintage. Nothing to wait, nothing to lose. Organic wine, made of 60 % merlot, 35% cab sauvignon and the rest of cab franc. Silver medal of an unknown contest of organic wine..

Nice medium red color. Well made wine, with a nose perfumed, with dark red flowers, blackberries, some roasted oak, soft spices, anis. In mouth, a very good concentration of black or brown fruits, earth, light licorice, fresh prunes flavors. Very perfumed in mouth too, with plums. Finish on oak and licorice. Good tannic presence, that give structure backbone. Very dry with light austerity. A very good regional Bordeaux. Tn: 87-88.

As much as I like 2012 for the mix of softness/complexity, i like 2011 for their good structure and medium fruit. This is the magic of Bordeaux, different character with different vintage, but always interesting for the wine lovers.

Hi Nic,

You Wonder why vineyard owners choose such complicated names...
Of course, there is the weight of history and all, but a wine like this is going to run into difficulty on export markets.

You've heard of Lord of the Rings. Well, here's Lords of the Aplle Trees"!
