White unknown fields

Post by Nicklasss »

Last Saturday, I made a small diner for my mother's birthday.

To have more chance for her to have a few sips of wine, we had raw oysters and i cook some sea scallops, salmons, and opened white wines.

The 2015 Apremont Savoie was nice with the oysters, with it strong Granny Smith apples and flowery character. Good density with acidity.

The 2015 La Moussière Sancerre is always having a slightly riper style than some other Sancerre, but still Loire Sauvignon at it's best : light flowers, shell, with some star fruit and citrus.

But the real "unknown field" wine was a 2015 Zind, from Zind-Humbrecht. A simple Vin de table as the wine is made of 65% chardonnay and 35% pinot blanc and auxerrois. A nice surprise as the wine is dominated by the pinots to start, with apple, flowers, minerals and salt. But with some air, the chardonnay take more and more the first role, with butter, ripe yellow fruits, more body but still that sline finish very long. A nice wine that i would recommend, as i bought some few more bottles.

I like that wine can still reserve good surprises!
