Bordeaux 2017 report....

Post by greatbxfreak »

Here it is : http://greatbordeauxwines.com/vintages/2017-16-15/2017

It's very long and concentrated, I wanted to put as many impressions as possible.

Happy reading!

I found this interesting:
"Overall 2017 vintage is better than 2016 and 2015. It reminds med of 2013 vintage with 2014's"

Izak quick critique, u have accidentally lumped
Ch. Pedesclaux with Margaux...this is a Pauillac.

Robert,

It's concerning white sweet wines! Please read carefully next time because it wasn't mistake from me. I added however a few words now, to emphasize it was about sweet wines.

Pedesclaux - has been corrected by moving this estate to right commune.

A kind question to you - maybe you have any other comments than point out my mistakes, existing and not existing. Please share with us.

Thanks Izak for the very informative report on 2017. I wasn't sure about buying any but you make me change my mind. Now, let's see if the prices will keep me in the same mood, of change my mind back!

Worst case I guess will be to buy 2 x 3 packs.

Wow Izak, a very thorough report once again. I appreciate the pictures and anecdotes that add a dimension to the tasting notes.

Thanks for the report Izak, a fascinating read. Seems like you slightly prefer (rate higher) the 2017 vintage than 2014. Would that be a fair conclusion?

Ian,

It's correct conclusion of yours.

I slightly prefer 2017 because of the charm and slightly riper fruit tannin, and silkiness.

Sigh, I see some familiar faces in there.
I want to go back!
Man, airfares are so expensive in the shortterm.
I had a chance to hang out with the author Elizabeth Strout this weekend of the opening of her play "My Name Is Lucy Barton" at the Bridge Theatre but the flights are so damned expensive.

Thanks for sharing the notes. I dug into your Soutard mini vertical. That looked quite nice. Always enjoyed their better years and glad to see they are getting a little more notice.
