TN: 2000 La Croix du Casse

Post by Jay Winton »

Drank half of this last night with beer can chicken, the other half tonight with a prime NY strip. In a very nice place, fully developed but no signs of decline. Lots of plummy Pomerol fruit and a very smooth finish. This get a grade of A-. We'll see how it shows tonight. UPDATE: 2nd half of the LCDC just as good last night.

J-M Arcaute made good wines in that era. I've got some young ones (2010 maybe?) but have yet to try them.

95, 98, and 00 have all been really good. Too bad the guy who made them died so prematurely.

of 90, 94, 95, 97, 98, 00 I thought 95 was the best. And it continues to drink very well today.

I had this wine a couple of months ago. It was plummy, rich, and brawny, but missing some finesse.

No point in holding on to it IMHO.

Now all gone but I was a big fan of the 1995 and 1998 La Croix du Casse.
