2015 Gloria

Post by William P »

2015 Chateau Gloria.

Wow this is a winner.
Nose. Closed when first opened. Herbal/leaves. Forest floor. Licorice. Gentle perfume. Expanding nicely. Kiss of leather.
Structure: wonderfully fresh acid, tannic but round and inviting. No sharp edges here, no aggression. Harmonious. Well balanced.
Body: Medium plus body but not heavy, medium concentration.
Palate: ripe plum, well integrated oak, not intrusive. Earthy.
Finish: Long, elegant finish.

This was $34 at Costco. It is worthy of long term cellaring yet it is also accessible. Bravo Ch. Gloria. A great Gloria. Probably age 20 plus years.

The Gloria is drinking very easily. That original tannic substrate has disappeared. Still a good wine but I'm questioning the 20 year prediction now.
