I’ve rarely had a disappointing 2003, from either bank of the river.
I had some Clos des Lambrays back in the day when they were like $25 per bottle, they are a little out of my range now.
Over the years there has been some inspired choices.
The decision on the 2018 BWE Wine of the Year has been made.
The identity shall be hermetically sealed until sometime between Christmas and New Year's, as is tradition....
It can't be the 2015 Rauzan Ségla, the BD did not taste it.
I would bet on 2015 Chateau Brane-Cantenac. I just re-read the text and rating of Jim, and having taste the wine myself, it is a no brainer. Just a utter performance from that estate in 2015.
I think Clinet, Rauzan Ségla and Canon are even better wines, but their prices are way higher.
Any guesses as to what is the BWE '18 Wine of the Year?
The selection has been made, it will be held under hermetic seal until sometime between Dec 26-Jan 1.
No matter if it will be Meyney 14, Rauzan 15, Brane Cantenac 15 or Canon 15.......it will be a perfect choice..... all of them waiting in the cellar for their time to come .
Merry christmas and a good year 2019 for all.

The tension is unbearable. I keep on waking up in the middle of the night to check BWE to see if Jim has revealed his choice yet.
This is going to be a deal like the Wine Spectator wine of the year where prices for a previously good QPR soar because it has been designated WOTY. Speculators should be stocking up on possible winners. Anyone with inside information stands to make serious $$$
