I have a hunch where this wine comes from, but I’ll keep the spoiler to myself.

Yes indeed. Low cost solution for lay flat boxes for efficient storage (the old wine cellar was an exercise in densely packing wine) and for our move to Colorado.

I think I see only one bottle of Champagne, David's 1988 Krug, I could bring a couple bottles of Dom Perignon to help us get started.
I'll also be bringing a Burgundy.

I propose to bring two Aussie cab icons as a foil to the Cali cabs.

Penfolds Bin 707 1996 and Wynn’s Coonswarra John Riddoch 1998

I saw a post from SFEd about a 1999 Clos des Goisses, and I was going to bring a 1996 to pair with it. In the meantime, we drank the Krug last week in Napa.

Now this is odd. I was sure I saw a post from SFEd about a 1999 Clos des Goisses, and I was going to bring a 1996 to pair with it. But now I don’t see that post. Maybe in the Saturday thread? In the meantime, we drank the Krug last week in Napa.
I'm bringing 4-6 Champagnes to pair up on Thurs/Fri or Sat.
2x Krug MV/NV and maybe a vintage Krug (but now, I think I'll leave the 98' home)
2x Vilmart or 2x Taitt BdB, Comtesse (00 or 06)
if we still need more I can pack up 98/00 Pol Roger SWC or 99/00/04 Bolly Grande Anne

For Fri reds: it's either 2x N. Rhone Guigal lala (06/08) or 87' Napa Dominus/Diamond Creek
unless I switch to Burg's

I can be persuaded....

Gene, I forgot about your 1998 Krug. I’ve got another bottle of the 1988 Krug and will bring it for Friday. And the 1989 La Chapelle.

Don’t let the Burgundy devils sway you!

Well done, well done, looks like we’re getting there on the Champagne front.

Outstanding Gene and Jim!

Champagne was the big thing we seemed to be missing, but no more.

Looks like I can squeeze the 1996 Clos des Goisses into a 750 slot in my Wine Cruzer, so I’ll bring that and the 1988 Krug on Friday.

David, in da house!

I think my lowly 02 Pol Roger is unworthy. Let me see what else I have in high end bubbly.

The 2002 Pol Roger is in a good spot - both the regular and the Blanc de Blancs. And the Winston. I don’t think they will age as long as originally expected but they’re drinking well now.
