I'm really sorry I can't make this one.
Any chance of a repeat in November? I might be in SF then.

Sorry Michael, I have my brother and sister in law flying in from Kansas City that evening. I have to miss this one though I would love to see how life is going for you. Have you emailed moe, chris, warner and ed directly?

Wish I could join you guys.
I'll be in San Francisco in October. Maybe we can do something then?

Having hosted Stuart and David before, I would be more than happy to do that again. Hopefully this time I will be able to sit down (last time my back was very injured and I couldn't sit and had to go off pain killers to be able to enjoy the '64 Cheval Blanc and Haut Brion along with the '86 Lafite and many others).

Yes, I well remember SFEd kneeling at the table - good thing you were tall enough to reach! - and passing on the painkillers in order to be able to drink with us. Plus he made dinner! Having been through the ruptured disc ordeal myself, I know exactly what you were experiencing.
Though Stuart and I will be in SF different months, it should make for a nice excuse to keep having more wine dinners. I'll be there Oct 21-26, and currently have the 21st, 24th, and 25th open for dinner. I'll start a new thread when the date gets closer and maybe we can arrange something. Over the years I know I've promised to open a bottle of this or that to a few BWEs if we ever got together (Bill I think you may be one of them) but if I ever wrote any of it down I can't find it. So you will have to remind me what it is I promised to open for you or threatened to foist upon you. This time I'll take notes. Don't be shy - wine's greatest purpose is to be shared by people who love it. Or sometimes to persuade people who think they hate it...

David, you presence will be more appreciated than any bottle, no matter how famous.

Well said, and the sentiment is reciprocated, Bill. But that doesn't have to stop us from opening some fun bottles.

Its now Friday 7 August.
Looks like the solid BWE SF group will make it.
I will look for some older Bordeaux for us to try ITNOS, and hopefully something will be good!
