D’issan 01 & Chevalier 03

Post by CJD »

Both very enjoyable & ready to go. The D’issan isn’t getting any better & won’t make old bones. Lots of cedar here.
The Chevalier is very Graves, very Bdx & in a nice spot. I found a bottle 5 years ago layered, loaded and delicious. Now, resolved but with plenty of life ahead. Maybe the last Chev. before it went to the darker side.
Had many enjoyable 03’s at this level & above. Remind me of another sweet spot 1990.
Both in the 90-92 range.

I loved those 2001 d'Issans I got at PJ's, and yes, I recall that wonderful cedar.
The half dozen or so I had are sadly long gone.

Maybe DcC has gone over to the dark side, but a 2010 was really good on about day 3. I didn't want to like it so much....but I did.

I had three bottles of the 03 DdC and I think I drank them all young. They were really enjoyable though. And based off that I bought some 06 and 08. Since then it seems to have closed the price gap some on the top-rank (ex-HB, LMHB) Pessacs.
