Venue for Saturday night is Bistro Bis in the George Hotel, 15 E St NW.
We have a private space in the mezzanine area with a single table.
Three wine glasses per setting, 5 course tasting menu below.
Total per person cost including corkage, tax and tip is $145.
Payment by check or cash on arrival, or by PayPal in advance (PM or email me for details).

I was down there on personal business this past weekend, I didn't get to get together with any BWEers, but I know that Nicola wants to do a road trip down there and DavidG wants to get together for a way overdue gathering, I'm hoping to spend more time down there in the forseeable future.
Once we get too late into June then I'm lost to the Great State of Maine through October.

June 8th or 15th might work but we're having some work done on the house in MD and are evacuating to the beach so once I get the start date, I can firm up the date.

I am largely around, but just had big sinus surgery and septoplasty (this is where they basically take your nose off your face, redo all the cartilage, then flap it down again) so God only knows when I’ll be able to taste/smell again. Hopefully within the next few weeks. But keep me in the loop!

I just talked with Nicolas, he is up for it.
I have a manslaughter trial that is going to be scheduled in June.
It will last 3-4 days and will start on either Monday, June 10th, or Monday, June 17th.
If it starts on June 10th I will be able to be in DC for June 15th.
If it starts on June 17th I will not be able to be in DC that weekend.
We will be having a conference with the judge within a week to discuss various trial issues.
I'll press him to schedule the case to start on June 10th.
I should be able to get an answer within the next few business days, so stand by for a bit longer and I'll get back to you on the feasibility of June 15th.

Yes the June 15th works for me and I'll be happy to attend this offline if it ever happens. I guess we need to do a recongnition dinner for David, who donates two magnums of the best 1989 to Denver 2019...

The trial is definitely not going the week of June 10th, which is bad, and most likely would start on June 17th, which would be bad.
However, I'm cautiously optimistic. We are having a suppression hearing this Friday and I think there is a high likelihood that the DA will either dismiss his case or make us an offer we can't refuse. I'm hopeful that I can give you a more definitive answer this Friday. I would say the chances are high that we will resolve this case.

We always recommend against plea bargains, my associate Jesse Archer and I prefer to go to trial.
But very often we are made offers that our clients can't refuse.

I'm going to press the judge tomorrow for an exact trial date. I hope we can see you in DC on June 15th, MichaelP! I'm assuming Nalan won't be there because of her Saturday work schedule?

How many are we talking about? IIRC the Alcove Room at CP has a $3500 or $4000 minimum.

Back from a daylong suppression hearing.
Grr, this judge can't make up his mind.
I truly think the case is either going to be dismissed or settle, but it hasn't happened yet.
We have another phone conference with the judge and DA on Monday at noon, we're gonna press him then to schedule this thing.
I'm 90% sure I'll be free that weekend, but I should be able to give a firmer answer on Monday by 1pm.
If Blanquito and Bro come in to town I will make sure I'm there for that Friday night as well!
