Can someone tell me what the merlot/cabernet breakdown is in this puppy?

Per tasting notes from JD...

"A blend of 52% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc (11%) and Petit Verdot (2%), aged in 30% new oak..."

Thanks CV, that's what I figured, there is some very luscious merlot here.

This was just a beautifully integrated left bank Merlot styled wine.
St. Estephe Merlot, not a rough spot to be found. Deep purple of first label depth.
Everything in place for a lovely 1 to 15 year experience. I don't know how "Montrose" it is, but I will buy more.
Rating: 92 points.

Seems way better than the 2015 Croix de Beaucaillou i had in March with my brother.

How much are you paying for the Dame de Montrose Jim? The problem with the 2015 Croix de Beaucaillou here, is the price : 95 $cad (or 70-72 $usd)...

It cost $43 in DC Nic.
Not cheap, but not overboard.

$43 seems pretty fair for a top vintage. DdM seems to be $60 in our local TW's usually.

I just bought the last 5 at Central WIne Merchants just now for $40 each plus about $3.75 shipping.
With all the recent talk on the forum about Sociando Mallet I added a 2005 to make a half case for delivery.

The 2016 Montrose GV is stellar, epic, probably the best this estate ever produced. The finish lasted 90 plus seconds. I had it matched up against the 2015, 14, 10, 09, 05 and 03 six months ago and it was clearly the best of the lot.

I can imagine how nice the 16 Dame is with its extra accessibility and merlot roundness.

Wine Library is offering 2016 Fonbadet for $30 with free shipping on case buy. Pretty good value in relation to California Cabs priced at this level.
Jim sounds like another positive review for 2016. Winex shows the La Dame Montrose at $37 and i just don't think that is unreasonable for a wine of such quality

It ended up being only 4 bottles so I got one of 2012 Cantemerle as well.
The wine was delivered only 24 hours after purchase. Now that's fast service.
When I'm ready for more of the LDdM, Total Wine has it in Connecticut for $45.
