Happy Anniversary Tom and Gail

Post by Comte Flaneur »

We had a lovely Italian-themed dinner with Tom and Gail last night here in London. Today they are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary and have a booking in the Ledbury, the UK’s top restaurant.

Back in the old U.S. of A. Thanks for all the good wishes!

Dinner with Ian, MEK, and a fow London locals was a blast. The restaurant (Noizé) is very wine-oriented and BYO friendly and the food and service were excellent as well.

The Ledbury was one of the best meals we've ever had. I'd guess the service isn't formal enough for a third Michelin star, but that's fine with me. A fair amount of foams, deconstructions and the like but each course was delicious!

Cheers!

Happy 40th, G&T! An amazing milestone.

I see the incredible 90 Monfortino in that pic — one of the best wines I’ve had — which I was lucky enough to enjoy once with you both, Ian, Alex and my brother at Fabio’s in 2008. Great memories. BWE rocks.

It was good but a little flat-footed compared to the Krug 164 Patrick. Not the best bottle I have had. Makes me keen to keep tapping into the rest of the case. Nothing to panic about yet.,
