A pretty typical young Sociando-Mallet. I'll give it 90 points for now, but it could go up by a point or two or it could go down by a point or two. It has a bite to it, just a twinge of acidity, but otherwise it seems to be pretty clean and crisp, with pretty classic Sociando characteristics. The question for me is whether there is complete ripeness here. But alas my note is sounding too negative. Nice pure deep ruby color. It has a strong cedary nose with good raspberry/blueberry fruit and tannins. It has some rough edges right now, but in the end I think this will prove to be a successful, no-nonsense wine. (90 pts.)

Not bad. What's the pricetag on this one these days? Still reasonable?

I should check in again on my 1996s.

$40 at PJs, it is going to be upwards of $50 in NH.
Saw the NH Bordeaux prices last night, they look very expensive, for the second year now.
Significantly more expensive than the New York stores.
