What are your top ten?

"Paris Texas" is my favorite movie.
"Of Gods and Men" is possibly 1A.
But "Spartacus" is up there, certainly in Top Ten, possibly Top Five.

I don't remember seeing all of Spartacus but Kirk Douglas was one of my all time favorite actors.

I guess my favorite movie is the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Whenever I see it on the channel guide I want to sit down and watch it.
A close second would be 2001: A Space Odyssey.

That's the beauty of movies. It has absolutely nothing to do with age.

I loved "The Irishman" and "Parasite."

Two movies I would recommend whether you are 20, 40, 60, 80, 100.

I am a sucker for old musicals and favourite probably The Sound of Music. Loved the Wizard of Oz and White Christmas. From a heritage perspective and love Yul Brenner/Tony Curtis in Taras Bulba that I haven't seen in years but was an annual favourite growing up instilling that Kosack pride.

I watched the Irishman but found the storyline great but it dragged for what 3 1/2 hrs. Not my fav.

I just thought the very last scene with Joe Pesci in the end of The Irishman was one of the most brilliant scenes I've ever seen, maybe it just resonated with how I remember my father at the very end.

Hard to pick a favorite movie but Luchino Visconti's "The Leopard" is perhaps the top for me.

Thought The Irishman was a pale shadow of Scorsese's best work and also that it sacrificed many of the most interesting elements of the Jimmy Hoffa story to make a more or less formulaic gangster pic. However, I agree the last scenes were the best.

The Sting, Butch Cassidy/Sundance, and Deliverance made huge impressions.
But not quite my all-time favorites as an adult.

I'll give it a go:

1. Dumb and Dumber
yep, timeless classic, greatest comedy of all time. Genius. Loved by all generations, most quoted movie ever according to IMB.
2. City of Life and Death
graphic and disturbing, yet a story that has to be told
3. Flowers of War
exactly the same subject as above, the greatest crime in humanity's history, yet went completely unpunished (and still denied by the Japanese) YiMou's greatest work.
4. Not One Less
maybe the second-leading work of Zhang YiMou, easily the greatest film-maker of our time.
5. Dunkirk
incredible suspense, but you first see a German soldier in the last 15 seconds of the movie!!!!
6. The Sound of Music
again, a timeless classic.
7. Under the Hawthorne Tree
another Zhang YiMou tear-jerker, flawless movie.
8. A Beautiful Life
Andrew Lau's best work, plus who wouldn't want to stare at Shu Qi for a couple of hours (sigh)
9. Rear Window
Just love this movie, Hitchcock and Grace, what more could you want?
10. Gone with the Wind
gone, but never forgotten. Amazing movie.

BTW, RIP Kirk Douglas? Really? Rot in Hell might be more appropriate.

Very good actor, though difficult to work with.
An even better man.
Having Dalton Trumbo screenwrite Spartacus and crediting him for it de facto ended the blacklist.
Given the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Carter for outreach to Anwar Sadat.
I could go on.

up there with OJ, IMHO. Those were, however, the days when the movie studios thought themselves above the law, and indeed, probably were!!!
