82 Lynch (LS but great color)
Older?

This may be the only time BWEers around the globe get to meet each other, including original legends like MichaelP, Stefan, Nicola, JC Northway, Winona Chief, etc., etc., I am hereby ordering ALL BWEers to particpate. So it is written....

Michael, I do have a couple of 55's I can open. Wasn't going to go that old, but if you do it, I'll do the same.... I can even coravin them.

I have a LS 55 de Sales and a LS 55 Pape Clement. Willing to coravin either of them.

I've always thought, isn't it sad, we have billions of people on this planet, but we never get together for one big party.

Everybody is off doing their own separate things in separate time zones, there's never really any time when the whole planet gets together and celebrates.

Sure, we have celebrations on New Years Eve, or religious holidays like Christmas, we follow when the fireworks go off across the time zones, but, again, those are during separate time zones.

Usually the only time the whole world is together for a single moment is during tragedy, during like the Kennedy assassination or 9/11.

More rarely, it is during times of joy, during like the Moon landing.

Well, this will be your one opportunity to meet BWEers during a very small window of time.
4pm US eastern time, Saturday, April 4, 2020.
90 minutes.
It is up to each of you to figure out your own time zones.

The historic worldwide one-time BWE World Party.

Come join us!

I hve NO intentions of doing this again, this will be a one-time event.
You will be VERY sorry if you don't join in!

I'll be moderating the event, with legendary BWEer DavidG as the co-moderator.
The legendary SF Ed will be there hosting the event and making sure everything goes smoothly.

Seriously, folks, if you ever thought of participating in a BWE event, the time is NOW.
You'll be glad you did! Don't be bashful, nobody is going to force you to participate or say anything you don't want to.

Twenty-plus years of incredible history here, folks.

See you on Saturday, April 4th, US eastern time.

With Ian looking at 2000 laTour HB which was superb last month we'll counter with the 2000 Larrivet HB also very good at last sampling to celebrate this 20th anniversary gathering.

Lol...

I love the way you always come in at the 11th hour and 59th minute and dictate the way it is going to be, MichaelP!
That's why you are one of the "Legends of BWE"!

BWEers can bring whatever you want, or you don't even have to bring anything at all...

Just bring yourselves.... And don't worry whether you are a "legend,' you are ALL legends, of course, because you have had the sound judgment of joining this site.

We are all equal. Nobody is better or smarter or knows more about wine than anybody else.

There are no cliques allowed here, you are required to check your ego at the door.

"BWE is not about the wine, it is about the people."

I will still open 1970 Ducru. If I do a 55 it will be only a glass via coravin, but i think maybe its best to save the 55.

Unfortunately I have no 2000 in my wine fridge in the apartment.

I count 22 who have confirmed their attendance either here or privately.
And I'm sure there are more who will be attending who have not responded.
Rumors have it that CabFan will be in attendance.
We could have upwards of 30! Let's keep it coming!

Thinking of going with the 2000 Trotanoy touted (in a good way) by Comte Flaneur in his post last June.

I decided on and just opened up a bottle of a fine 2005 Medoc from the only two time BWE wine of the year chateau in Leoville Poyferre and where the first sniff is unmistakable Saint-Julien. And I’ll see you all at 4PM!

Nice my kids have been zooming with their school for weeks now, so I guess I will try to join the bandwagon.

It'll be nice to attach faces to some of the cryptic handles folks here use :)

I've got a 2000 Larrivet Haut Brion (rouge) breathing on the kitchen counter. Prior examples have been mixed, but a sip of this one suggests it may be a good one.

See you in a bit

I did a screen shot of the group on the Zoom gathering and pasted it into a MS Word document. However, it appears that I cannot paste it into a reply on this site. Does anyone know if there is a way to do that?

you can upload an attachment if you use the Post a Reply button rather than the "quick reply".

BUT, for me, it limited me to 256kb, which means I had to reduce the file size (and therefore the quality) substantially.
