Earth-shakingly good news concerning some BWEers...

Post by JimHow »

A great day, just heard some tremendous news from a BWEer.
It is certainly not my position to announce it, I will let said BWEer make the announcement at the appropriate time.
Suffice to say, it is very, VERY good news!!!!
The BD is happy.

Looking forward to learn more. I feel a bit disconnected in these virus times.

BTW, happy anniversary Ed and Lisa.

OK, I was going to do a posting tonight but Jim beat me to it.
Nalan and I took an 8 day road trip to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Parks and got back home a few hours ago.
While there on Sunday, in front of Old Faithful geyser as it erupted, I got on one knee I asked Nalan to marry me (yes, with a ring).
Most importantly I am excited to report that she said yes!
Not sure when we can do a proper celebration but as soon as the Covid all-clear is complete, we'll be opening some imperials of Bordeaux to celebrate. The next annual BWE event?

OMG!

Congratulations to Nalan and you Michael. Very great news indeed, i understand you my friend because having met Nalan a few time at BWE events, i always thought she is a very luminous person. But the two of you are great people, and i can't imagine a better match.

Next step: we'll be looking forward your next announcement, about kids :-).

Congrats Michael P! Sounds like quite the place to propose, won't be telling the details of that to my girlfriend! haha

Hope we can all get together one day in the near ish future once Covid and fires allow for it.

Yes dstgolf, I've been with MC the last 25 years, engaged since 19 years. Sometimes, i think i will change my mind and do it. Other times, i feel i'm too bad to be with MC.

A fun one: MC is also always changing her mind about it. Lately, she was back on the "I want to get married" side. One of my married friend committed a crime, and told her a part of his bachelor party... and MC kind a changed her mind... i explained to her my friend got married young, when he did not had that many friends at the time. If I would get married, can you imagine how my bachelor party would ends up with 80-100 friends?

Nic: But bachelor party will have some great wine!

And I forgot to mention that my earlier plan was to ask her on the BWE trip to Bordeaux in March. But, as we all know, that plan was cancelled by Covid.

Congrats to Michael and Nalan for deciding to do it.

Congrats to Ed and Lisa for remembering they did it.

Congrats to Jay and Peggy for remembering how long ago they did it.

Congrats to Nic and MC for thinking they might do it some day but probably not.

Congrats, Nalan and Michael-P!

Michael, were you making your case with the venue that despite being old you would be faithful? :D

Seriously, best wishes to the two of you from Gail and me.

Thanks for all the good wishes. Nalan and I are happy.
Except that we can't sit near our friends when we drink Bordeaux together.
And Napa is burning.
And the BWE trip to Bordeaux was cancelled.
Soo this too will pass.
