Post by Hm$(still) »

Thoughts on how far in advance of dinner I should open the bottle?

Not too long, 1-2 hours.
The best GPL ever, in my book.
A great BWE month kind of wine.

For optimal enjoyment, I suggest another 5 years in the cellar with the cork unremoved

This wine is slightly less mature than it was 12 years ago

Jim
I’d never heard of it but I still listen to some of the bands from that era so I will try and watch it.
I still play some of the songs from this era on guitar.

It was such a pleasant surprise, Mark, some incredible old footage that I had never seen before. Highly recommended.

The ‘95 GPL was in a perfect place tonight. The ‘96 GPL was a bit flabby and uninspiring in comparison.

Bravo, Howard. Love the 95 GPL, always have preferred it to the 96. I just think the 95 will be even better in another 5+ years (for my palate of course).

Well done indeed, Howard. 1995 is the one great GPL.

Glad it turned out well for you, Howard. I opened a 95 GPL a couple of weeks back. After a couple of hours in a decanter, it was still fairly tight. Though it can be coaxed to be very good now, I think it will be even better in another 5, or even 10, years.
