BWE DC 2021: October 2nd Saturday dinner - details, final count

Finally, the details for the Saturday night dinner 10/2

The venue is Chalie Palmer Steak at 101 Constitution Ave NW. Although that's the official address, you'll see on Google Maps that it's really closer to the intersection of 1st St NW and Louisiana Ave. An easy 2-3 block walk from the Hyatt Regency at 400 New Jersey Ave NW where many of us are staying.

Festivities begin at 6:00 PM with a Champagne reception, followed by a seated dinner at 7:15 PM in the Alcove room.

All-in costs are $240/person, including:
- an hour-long reception with passed hors-d'oeuvre (we'll need to bring a few bottles of Champagne!)
- 3-course plated dinner (choice of: 2 salads, steak or salmon entree, 2 desserts)
- coffee, tea, juice, soft drinks, bottled water
- unlimited corkage
- 5-6 decent Bordeaux stems (19 oz) per person
- tax and tip

We're planning the usual 8-top rounds so there's plenty of room for stems and bottles on the tables.

Hopefully in Quebec City Oct 1 & Montreal 2/3 coming back from 5 days in Charlevoix that was interrupted by covid last year and put off to this Fall as long as things continue to unfold as we hope. Not sure when US border opening and we're not comfortable with flying just yet regardless. Should be fun though. Enjoy!

I serve at the pleasure of the BD.

It was my impression that there are better, less expensive options known to the locals, but I will make arrangements at CP for Saturday 10/2 if that’s the group's desire or your decree.

It's amazing, by my count, 22 out of the 25 attendees on this list had attended a BWE convention by 2003....

I for one would be interested (I’ve always really enjoyed the Thursday nights at Conventions), but we of course need local buy-in.
