I'm in. I've been looking for an excuse to open a few of mine. L'eglise Clinet and VCC. Count me in. I'll let you know later if I need a plus one or two.

Depending on how many people, I may have a cool spot for us to do it.

+1 for me, my friend Dallas would like to join for all 3 nights as well. This will be my first bwe thursday. Is the thursday night generally a shorter night with less bottles than the others?

I expect to participate on Thursday night, not sure about Marjorie. I am looking into a possible venue in DC but will need a reasonable head count.

Clearly the best one since a long time!

In 2018, after the Thursday night dinner, information from serious source tell me that someone puke in the Uber going back to the hotel... it was my first time being in a Uber that smelled a mix of Great Champagne, Palmer, Montebello and Yquem!

In 2019, there was so much wines at the dinner, that we needed some beers cleaning later on, until midnight, before going back to stefan/lucie hotel room for a last glass (or two) of wine...

Sorry Nicola,

All I heard from your post is that you want to take Jim's flight and come get drunk on some fine northern medoc in DC this year!

If you bring the 86 VCC, i'll bring either the 83 or 89 (or maybe both) to pair.

I also have 87,90,97 L'eglise Clinet. Also 98 L'evangile if anyone has any specific interest.

I am wondering why we don't save the Pomerols for the Saturday blowout -- they are after all some fantastic Bordeaux and that is our big Bordeaux night.

With that said, if this is going to be Pomerol night, I could bring the 2001 and 2011 VCC...

Should I add you to the head count?

I’m with Jim — at every convention I’ve been too, there has been outstanding bordeaux on Thursday AND Saturday nights. But Saturday is always far too many people to all share the same set of bottles (without a big effort to get multiple bottles of the same wines and control pour size, etc).

Eric, I just added you and Janet to the list. I also like the smaller dinners a lot. Chris Bublitz/Winona Chief is handling the logistics for the venue, but I assume there’s still room for all.

Tim, sorry to miss you, but we’ll all catch up on Friday.

Any news about the attendants/venue/time?

Thanks for the reminder - I was planning on posting an update. This is the plan:

Starting at 6:15 p.m. at Black Salt restaurant. It’s right next door to MacArthur Beverages. Six course tasting menu with cost approximately $200 per person. I told them we would be doing flights of Champagne and white Burgundy, followed by three flights of red Bordeaux (mostly Pomerol 20 to 40 years old) and ending with dessert wine.

We will need volunteers to bring Champagne and white Burgundy - probably a total of 3 for each flight.

Just want to make sure everyone who signed up is coming (except for Jacques and Jill) - please confirm.

Also, any allergies the restaurant should know about? Please let me know as soon as possible.
