I swapped out the mag and am instead bringing: (1) 2000 Bollinger Grande Anne, and (2) 2006 Piper Heidsieck Rare

Well done, Chris. Fantastic dinner. I don't say that lightly about the food. One of the better tasting menu's i've had in a while. The wines and company, as always were awesome.

See you all tomorrow!

Going for my second Covid test, will report in a little while. Suffice, as that great emissary from Kazakhstan would say: “Wow, wow, wee!”

Terrific first night of the convention! Great to see everyone and make new acquaintances. Per usual, we wrestled with the world’s problems, discussing (amongst other arcane and cerebral topics) bankruptcy law and clawbacks, the distinction between alpine vs subalpine ecosystems, the nuances and weighty implications of federal tax calculus, and managed to drink some superb wines in the process. The food and service at Black Salt were also so good, easily the best meal I’ve had in 2021. .

More thoughts to come, but I’ll say for now that my WOTN against some stiff competition was the always sensational 1990 La Conseillante and the clear Howquito wine was the 2000 La Conseillante.
