Fourth growth Château Lafon Rochet in Saint-Estèphe has been sold to Jacky Lorenzetti, who already owned 5th growth Ch. Pédesclaux in Pauillac, cru bourgeois exceptionnel Ch. Liliane Ladouys in Saint-Estèphe, and half of 3rd growth Ch. d’Issan in Margaux.
Franco-Swiss Lorenzetti, made his fortune in real estate.
Winemaking at all three estates will be overseen by Emmanuel Cruse, co-owner of d’Issan.

Lafon Rochet sold
Re: Lafon Rochet sold
Alex,
Lafon Rochet was owned by Alfred Tesseron's brother Michel who passed it down to his son Basile in 2007. His father Guy owned it until 1999 when he passed it to Michel. Now sold out of the family altogether strays far from their philosophy of winemaking being a lifelong family passion. Not sure what happened to let this out of the family?
I saw this on WS.

Re: Lafon Rochet sold
To me it seems like pricing of Lafon Rochet has not really changed all that much over the years and that might be one of the reasons behind the sale.
But good for Emmanuel Cruse as he will now be running 3 properties.

Re: Lafon Rochet sold
Lorenzetti has done a good job with Pedesclaux so all hope.
