Probably the 9's for me. But 6's are close to the top too.

For sure , 5 has a strong case. We did a 2015 tasting a few weeks ago, i'll post a report.

9 seems clearly to be interesting too. It is alway a bit tricky, as we did not taste 2019 yet.

8 for me can be solid too, but i did not liked that much the young 2018 i had. That might change with lot of time.

It has to be the zeroes.
1970 the best of a decade, although a weak 1980, 1990, 2000 and 2010 are all brilliant.

Man, that’s tricky!

0s, 6s and 5s all pretty darn close for me. In the end 0s win for me too.

Hm I didn't realize that we were also counting the 90's and 00's wines. That makes it tougher. My vote only factored for 79,89,19. I've definitely had some decent 99's. Although I'm not nearly as high on 2009 as many are.

Even though I'm not a big fan of 2015, I do really enjoy 1995 and 2005. So I think I switch my vote to the 5's or the 6's. This is actually a much tougher question now.

This is good evidence that the weather is random because there are excellent arguments for most numbers (except I guess 3, 4, and 7)

5, because all the vintages were good ones. 0 is a strong contender, but 1980 was pretty weak and I am not as yet sold on 2010.

0 are a great choice too. I'm not as fan of 1990 as some other here. Pichon Baron, La Conseillante and Beauséjpur-Duffau are top, but for some other Châteaux, missing just a notch of freshness.

And i guess that the 1986 LLC and 1996 Latour that Comte Flaneur opened when i was in London, did help me to go for 6.

I picked 6 because of how much I love 1986 and 1996. 9 is a solid choice with 1989, 2009 and the potential of 2019. 5 is also excellent in many of the vintages but I couldn't pick it because I don't love any of the vintages (at least yet). 0 isn't shabby either - 1990, 2000 and 2010 were all excellent.

Fun game!

I picked 9, though 5 and 0 were right there as well. Huge fan of the underrated 79s, plus the 89s are so good and 09 and 19 have tons of promise.

Well 0,5,6 and 9 all put in a strong bid here. 8 quite good too particularly the right bank.

Interestingly 3 and 7 since 1970 are the losers with 4 also being rather low in the hierarchy and 1 being average at best. Finally 2 is variable though only 82 is a top vintage and 92 a poor one.

6 seems pretty strong to me, especially since I consider 2016 the greatest vintage ever.

No love for 8?
Except for 2018, which by reputation seems hot, all the other 8 vintages are solid and some even spectacular
1978 excellent all around
1988 one of my favorite ever vintages
1998 better on the Right Bank but pretty good on the Left as well
2008 I have had only a few times but was never disappointed.

8 is my huckleberry

Jacques
I placed 8 after 0,5,6 and 9 which are in numerical rather than qualitative order.
Yet 8 in an absolute sense is pretty good. I rate 88 very highly and am surprised that it does not always get as much attention as say, 89.

Not sure I found 78 to be that consistent and I never thought it was a top vintage. 2008 and 98 were both better on the right bank and maybe most critics and consumers seem to place more emphasis on the left bank.

Cheers

Jacques, I agree with most of your comments on the 8s. They just haven’t quite pushed my favorite or spectacular buttons as often as the 0s. The 78s were excellent, the 88s remain sleepers that punch way above their weight, I love the 98 right banks. I’d probably put the 8s in fourth place, after the 0s, 6s, and 9s, and ahead of the 5s.

I may be more down on the 5s than I should be because I bought too many over-ripe 2005 St Ems, many of which are still sitting in the cellar haunting me. That and the lingering bad taste of the Premier Cru 2005 en primeur fiasco, though I think I can separate that from the quality of the wines themselves.

I went for consistency
0 - 80 is meh, 2000 is consistently good but not earth shatteringly great, and like Stefan I'm not sold on 2010
1 - 71 and 91 were out of the running for anything, 81 is terrific
2 - 82 is awesome, 72 and 92 meh, 2002 good on the Left mediocre at best on the Right
3 - only 83 is good. 73, 93, and 13 mediocre, 03 is not to my liking
4 - Fuhgeddaboudit, only 2004 and 2014 are worth mentioning, 94 may reward patience, eventually.
5 - Serious contender, 75 is ok, 15 a bit hot for me
6 - My second choice, 76 is insipid, the rest pretty good to great
7 - Not even in the running
8 - Not a bad one in sight, jury still debating 2018 but could be early days
9 - 99 is meh, I am not a fan of the hot 2009s, haven't had a 2019 yet, I like 79 and love 89

8 is my number
Best
