TN: A change of plans ('00 Fleur du Bouard)
So my intent had been to open a '98 Clerc Milon, but I needed to move a '00 FdB to get to it, so opted for the Lalande de Pomerol wine instead. I am glad I did, as it is drinking quite well now. It is still somehwat youthful, but is developing some leafy, cedary elements to complement its dark berry fruit. It still shows a good bit of coffee/wood spice, and maintains a back end tannic edge, but it has no shortage of stuffing, sk I am not worried in the least about any imminent demise. Maybe not all of those modernist, right-bank, satellite wines are destined for an early end after all.

Maybe the 2000 vintage isn't destined for an early demise, after all...

The 01 and 05 are both nice. In a couple of years I'll try them side by side maybe.
