Sorry for the big sideways file. Dont know how to edit from my phone.
Decanted at tableside. Cork and fill are perfect. Dark red core, just a little bricking at the rim. Nose is full of cassis, black cherry, complex moist earth right out of the gate.

After 30 minutes or so this opens up beautifully, with an even richer, more complex nose and palate to follow. A nice mix of rich ripe fruit and aged characteristics, great balance, nicely resolved tannins, and a long, lingering finish. Showing much better and more evolved than the bottle I brought to DC.
It's easy to see how this wine was an inspiration for the founding of BWE.

Another hour later and things are shifting towards a meaty, iodine and leather place, still maintaining the complex aged fruit and great balance.

What a great price too...
Hope the food wasn't too shabby either.

The food is ok but far from great or inventive. We go for the well-stored aged wines at killer prices.

Wow! That is a $100 under the lowest retail price in the USA. Congratulations!

That's why we keep going back, Stefan. Apparently very few people are aware of the cellar and prices. There's always something good on the list, and they never raise prices on the old stuff.
