Photo Quiz: Name the estates.
Okay so in the other thread I posted my picture of my three cases of Chateau Sociando Mallet, from the vintages 2000, 2002, and 2003.
Also in the picture is clearly a case of Lafite.
Partially pictured are 9 other cases.
Some are more completely pictured than others.
Can you name the 9 other estates?
You are Bordeaux wine enthusiasts, you should be able to knock this off pretty quickly.
This quiz obviously assumes you know my preferences.
I'm guessing that the one at the very bottom will be most problematic.

Re: Photo Quiz: Name the estates.
My take on the bottom one is Branaire ducru...
08 poyferre(has an accent on bottom E), 10 chasse, barde haut (has a crest)...
I am gonna say lafon/lagrange, but looking at the pic, will go with lafon since lagrange has a taller corner in its chateau pic...
For 09, i am gonna say haut-bergey/meyney, but will go with meyney since haut-bergey is written in an arc. But not 100 percent with my choice though...
The rest 02 barton and 05 duhart are apparent...

You guys are good.
The bottom one is indeed 2002 Branaire Ducru.
But what about the purple colored one in the lower left?
And the one on the right that begins with LA is a tricky one.

I'm wondering if I should start thinking about drinking those 2002 Sociandos?

Anyway, the purple colored case in the lower left is 2005 La Tour Carnet, and the case beginning with LA on the right is 2007 Lafaurie Peyraguay.
Not a bad performance, getting Branaire Ducru at the bottom is impressive!

Actually Jim, LA was much more tough for me. Sauternes did cross my mind, but thought mostly the cases are split bottle case...JimHow wrote:Anyway, the purple colored case in the lower left is 2005 La Tour Carnet, and the case beginning with LA on the right is 2007 Lafaurie Peyraguay.

The bottom case was a bit easy by doing detective work. If we look closely, the first two partial letters have to be a combination of 'P', 'B' and 'R'...I dont know any chateau that starts with PB, PP, BB, RR , RB or BP. That leaves with PR or BR... Brane cantenac as far as I know prints in straight line instead of an arc. Could be Brannon, but knowing Jim as a Medoc guy, I went with BRANAIRE...
