2002 Branaire Ducru
The 2002 magic continues! This wine is softer than the '02 Sociando, smooth, medium bodied, chocolate, cedar, and… that awesome 2002 reserve and restraint. Just such a pleasant, elegant wine drinking lovely right now. Everything right where it should be. An extra point for the QPR factor, we got this in like the low $20s at PJs back in the day. Excellent. 91 points.

See that you love the 2002's a lot, Jim! Still have a 2002 Clos Fourtet cellared. Purchased for 21 Eur in a Bordeaux Carrefour around 2004/2005. The 2002 Pontet-Canet I had last year was superb, but needed a long decant. Cassis, cassis, cassis...
Just had another 'unripe' vintage. 2007 Boyd-Cantenac. With air a true classic beauty. Flowers, cherry, thyme, lavender, soft veggie touch, fine tannins. A lovely and true Margaux.
