Went to my favorite local restaurant Xaviars in Piermont NY where they have a very attractive 3 course prix fix lunch for $45 and corkage is $25/btl so I brought a 2001 Cos d'Estournel to check in on its development.
This wine has a 100 point nose, elegant and full of black berry, creme de cassis, cedar and herbs which lead way to a tootsie roll and black berry driven flavor profile. Entering early maturity but with a bright future ahead of itself. 95+ points from me

I was blown away by this wine when I last had it. I thought it tasted like a Lafite from an outstanding vintage. I think I have one bottle left.
