I plan to buy a few bottles this weekend. Is the 2010 Château Cantenac Brown, worth 70-75 $US? I know some have reported on the wine here (and Mr. Parker), good enough for that price?
Thanks.
Nic

That's a great wine, Nic, I think I paid about $60-65 for it. You should buy 2-3 bottles at that price but you will want to sit on them for 20 years.

Nic, the other wine you can also consider which is in that league, IMO, is 2010 Brane Cantenac...I loved both of them...

Nick,
I tink that Cantenac Brown is underrated and that you will not regret the purchase, especially in 2010.

Just to play devil's advocate I recently bought and drunk a bottle of Cantenac Brown 2004. It has a lovely nose but was hArsh, tannic, bitter and short on the finish. A major let down. Makes me wary about this estate.

The 2009 was superb last fall, on the other hand.

Has there been a change in the winemaking there? I never recalled this wine being any great shakes before 2009-2010.

Could just be the vintage too. Lots of places had their Bucky Dent moment in the sun in 2009 & 2010
