Yes. Yes Robert, there is indeed quite a lot going on in that picture.
That is the legendary moment at Napa '02 when Nicklass lowered his pants at the sight of a whoopie pie.
I was in the room for that incident as well as the Dallas incident but, in my autism, I was contemporaneously unaware that either incident was occurring.

At that time, it was like a magician trick, everybody's attention was on the Whoopie pie, so I think nobody notice"the trick". he réal story is that I did that to Check If everybody's were drunk and not noticing it...

At that time, nobody's know they missed that little thing, that would produced three beautiful children later on...

Nic

P.S. Tom, I had my gun story in the States. I was in New-York with three friends, in the subway, and there was a strange Guy in front of us. Another Guy pass threw our wagon, asking for money. We give him our pennies. When hé is out, the strange Guy stand up, and point us with a gun, saying that If we have money to give, it should be to him. After hé yelled a few " motherfuxxxx" for few minutes, always pointing us with the gun. When hé stop, other New-yorkers said get out to next station, what that Guy did. I never lived something as scary as that moment...

I hadn't really taken a good look at that picture in a while, and just did.
Omg is that a classic, I have tears in my eyes from laughing so hard.
Indeed, there is "a lot going on" in that picture.

Remember, that was shortly after the ride back from the Saturday night venue, when we were crammed into my old Lincoln LS, and MichaelP was pushing for throwing Whuzzup__ out into a ditch by the side of the road due to his new-found obsession with Burgundy.

Eating ribs. I really enjoyed that Saturday afternoon excursion for Texas barbecue, especially that really honky tonk place we went to first.

The iphone and compact auto digicams all do a pretty good job outdoors in daylight but fall down indoors with resolution. Too much blur because not fast enough.Poor flash and images under exposed and or blurry again because too slow. Country lawyers have high standards when it comes to wine but not to critical when it comes to photography I'm told!

Omar, I hope to see you next year, in DC or wherever...

If we do DC, it will be hard to match the quality/price formula that Howard and Lisa pulled off in Dallas. Charlie Palmer has a great room and they are very accommodating but it was close to $200/person all in (room, meal, corkage, tax, tip, glassware, starter Champagne) for Saturday night if I recall. I can most likely do it there again easily - I know the somm, we've been before, etc. But if folks want a better value, I'm not sure I have the knowledge and connections to find something better.

Value, shmalue. Once a year we all can splurge. Charlie Palmer has done a great job for us in the past. What is an extra $50 or so when we go through $15,000- $20,000 (estimate of average current retail) worth of wines on Saturday night?
