I don't know why they left the rocket outside during the storm/hurricane. Hopefully we won't have any surprises in terms of the rocket's integrity...
Re: "We choose to go to the moon..."
People questioned the expense and value of the Apollo program, yet it paid huge dividends in spirit and knowledge as well as financially. I’m excited. Not a 10 year old boy type excited, but I’m no longer a 10 year old boy (Peggy might disagree).
We’re such a polarized country that I suspect the spirit part will not be as widespread with Artemis. To the conflicted worriers:
1. No we didn’t do this before. Not like this. Who knows what we’ll learn? Where is your sense of exploration?
2. We didn’t stop having sex because “Oooh, so many more consequences now.”

It’s interesting, they changed the title of the op-Ed on the NYT website, they went from “we’re conflicted” to “we’re excited.”

I was actually looking for the NYT front page from the day before in July 1969, when the headline announced that Apollo 11 had established a lunar orbit. The anticipation took my breath away, still does to this day.

Yes, coverage was outstanding. Looks like they’ve got a viable system.
