2006 Bordeaux Coming To Ottawa

Post by dstgolf »

Sales must be very slow. We get an annual LCBO sponsored premium tasting but the large Bordeaux tastings usually end up in Toronto or Montreal. Looking forward to finally having an opportunity to taste before buying. Have had little intention on adding any more new Bordeaux to my cellar but if something is a must get then....!!! Here's the lineup for Oct 22.

Sounds like a great opportunity to try a bunch of '06s. Despite the "big price redcuctions" on '06s, I didn't find any of them such great deals. The only '06 I bought was Angelus, just 'cuz I love it so. Hope you get a chance to post your impressions, Danny.

David,

Only bought two on futures Malescot because it drinks well young and Pavie Macquin because I like it and really liked our visit in 2005. I especially appreciated Stephen D's wife Christine. I've seen worse reasons to buy a wine like Parker points!

Never thought of buying more wine but it's a great opportunity to sample and maybe buy. I'll try to post some notes and general impressions for sure. Will be attending the first growth tutored tasting which will likely be my only chance at these big boys.

Do you know anything else about it? Was it an orgeon wine? A Pinot Noir, maybe? Perhaps you can get the correct spelling from the place you had it? "Efelle" doesn't ring any bells... Maybe Failla? That's a California producer.
