I have a case of both in my cellar but I wasn't shure about decanting time and drinking window, so didn't open any of them since yet. Would you recommend a decant time for the Canon, too?

Most of the 2003's I've drunk recently performed very well! I think it depends on the Chateau or the region. 80% of my experiences have been good/great, 20% bad.
Branaire Ducru didn't show well 2 years ago - I agree! But it was one of the rare exceptions...

For me the 2019 vintage is the winner! I've had about 40 different 2019's and 25 different 2020's in the glass but I couldn't find any 2020 wine that could defeat its 2019 counterpart. For me 2020 has a little bit more of this burnt sugar overripeness, which I really don't like. But everyone's palat...

....for the moment. Maybe in 5 years there are some significant changes? Many 2016's and 2010's are very closed at the moment, 2019 is going into this phase now IMHO so everything is in motion...

I had Canon-la-Gaffeliere 2004 a few times over the last months and it is a great wine. I had Pichon Baron, Leoville Poyferre (which where the best from the left side that I had) and many others of the already mentioned Bdxs, but none of them had been better, especially if you consider the price.
