Sipping on a 2019 Labegorce on a Friday night... Because I am a Bordeaux Wine Enthusiast....

Post by JimHow »

A nice week transitioning back into the USA, no political assassination attempts in the five days (yet) since I have been back. I'm going to accept that as a positive step.

I have a brutal schedule of three murder trials and other very serious felonies coming up in the next 5-6 months, I'm probably going to be somewhat (even more) boring than usual as I focus on these brutal cases, I'm hoping Nicola, Dave, and others can pick up the slack in board leadership in the months ahead.

The 2019 Labegorce has become one of my "weekday" wines, it was great with the sirloin tonight but especially compelling with the blueberries and cream, mmm 93 points.

As for DC '24, I will await instructions from Marcs and Joel, and look forward to their reports on the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night festivities. Can't wait to see everybody!

As for the 2024 presidential election... Well, that's for another thread.

Again, looks like an excellent Labégorce.

I’m starting to feel that 2019 is also a vintage I like, and with my limited sampling, prefer it to 2017-2018-2020-2021.

Interesting: Margaux good with steak. Not a classical combination. Has Labégorce moved to the dark side?

I’d say a little more structured Stefan than typical Margaux. They really are a great hot streak since 2015, If you haven’t had this wine, you should give it a go!

Labegorce may be knocking on the door of Sociando asking for the BWE QPR championship belt! 🤔

I think that about sums it up Eric.
I’m hard pressed to think of a better QPR than Labegorce these days.

I'll have to try modern Labegorce. The most youngest vintage I have drunk is 1983, mostly recently in the last couple of years.
