Hi everyone,
I'm planning a trip to Rome next month and will be visiting the Borghese Gallery. As a Bordeaux wine enthusiast, I was wondering if any of you know good spots to taste quality Italian wines in that area? I'd love to combine this cultural visit with discovering local fine wines, to compare them with our Bordeaux. If you have any recommendations for wine bars or restaurants with a good wine list near Villa Borghese, I'm all ears!
Thanks in advance,

Re: Italian wines while visiting Rome?
Malkolm,
Welcome to BWE, where we even discuss Italian wines.
I am currently wrapping up a two-month trip to Italy, finishing in Rome. A couple of people on this website recommended Enoteca Costantini in Rome as a place with great Italian wine selection. I don't know how close it is to where you will be, but it may be worth a taxi ride, if not within walking distance.

Welcome malkolm!
Yes, Enoteca Constantini in Rome has an outstanding selection. They are a retailer, and did not offer tastings when I was there many years ago.
There are wine bars in Rome, but I have no recent personal experience.
Many restaurants have a pretty good selection, if not the finest of fine wines. Like most restaurants they are usually recent releases. Not sure of your budget, but if you want to splurge, La Pergola restaurant in the Cavalieri Hilton has an extensive and expensive cellar, a tremendous menu, and stunning views of the city below.

I keep forgetting the name of that lovely restaurant with the lovely wine list that Nicola directed us to, I think we went there after our visit to the amazing Borghese Gallery.... I'm sure Nicola will chime in....
