I bought these "top shoulder" bottles from GRW Wine Collection in California, I've never dealt with them before.
Oh baby, what a great wine. Hope they are in good shape. Top shoulder sounds ok.

Ha I thought of you while I was searching for GL, Tom, I was looking for the '79 and '81.
One of my strategies for 2025 is to buy 1980s Bordeaux.

Or come to Oregon to drink mine? I now have a fair amount. We drank 82 Nameless Wine and 86 La Mission Haut Brion the other night. The La Mish had slight TCA, but was enjoyable nevertheless, even for stefanJr. This was a good but not great bottle of the Nameless Wine. Good bottles of the 82 are still very good. As usual for the 82, this bottle had more of a Graves profile than a Margaux one.

Yes, I need to get out to Oregon.
I'm currently embroiled in the first of three back to back murder trials, I'll get out there after my murder trials.
We'll drink 1980s Bordeaux.

Surely it can now be named given it was the official BWE WOTY and picked up a 12 OWC a few months ago a a good price. I now expect its new fame will triple the retail price!

Guys
Just bought more Muga Prado Enea, this time 6xOWC of the 2014.
The 2011 is drinking well now so I'll hold the 14 for a while.

Also bought some nice Margaret River and Coonawarra Cabs in case lots - 2021 Jilyara Williams Block CS, 21 Brand "The Purist" CS, 19 Devil's lair CS, plus Devil's lair and Deep Woods Margaret River Chardonnays.

I have bought quite a lot of 19 and 20 Bordeaux from both banks recently, and really don't need any more unless I expect to live to 100.

Also bought some more Justin Girardin Burgundies.
He is one of two brothers now making their way from the well known and very historic family - apparently in Burgundy since 1570.
There is a nice purity of fruit in these wines, both red and white.
Bough a mixed lot of wine from Chassagne Montrachet, Pommard, Santenay and Savigny Les Beaune.
They don't cost anything like the highly regarded wines of Burgundy which is a relief.

Also bought some 2013 Dom Perignon at the airport duty free shop for the best price I have seen in a decade.

cheers

Nice haul of Goodfellow wines. But not a single pinot noir? You must be low on whites. :)

Right, John. The last 12 are for Texas because we are essentially out of whites. I am not buying any reds for Texas. I have a lot of Goodfellow PN both in Texas and in Oregon.

6 2022 Chablis 1er cru (various ones) for Texas
1 1964 Haut-Brion (for Oregon)

I had the 1964 Haut Brion many years ago. I thought it was a beauty.
I’m curious to know how it’s held up.
Enjoy!

After tasting a few of the most recent vintages (2014-2020), I believe that 2016 suits my taste in Bordeaux. Too old for the 2022's, so I loaded up on some 2016's.

6 of each:
2016 Calon Segur
2016 Pichon Baron
2016 Les Carmes Haut Brion
2016 Leoville Poyferre
2016 Leoville Barton
2016 Canon

Some 2014's to backfill:
6 Calon Segur
6 La Conseillante

And one lone 2019 that I adore:
6 Durfort-Vivens

Cheers!
