First post and long time lurker!
Looks like the annual blind Southwold tasting featuring the 2021's had some interesting results, especially in regards to Leoville Barton taking second place overall and being the lowest price wine to ever finish in the top 3.
Here is the write up:

For Science - I have since been following a bottle of the over the last couple of days since they are so reasonably priced and have been really impressed, here is my note from CT:
Absolutely delicious. Fresh blackberry, graphite, hints of cigar box and a turn of black currant and an almost eucalyptus sensation of freshness on the finish. The purity is phenomenal. Medium body, medium+ acid, perfectly balanced tannins - this wine is everything you could ask for in a cool year Bordeaux. In a youthful drinking window now with a few hours of air but I wouldn't be surprised if this shut down in the near term. Will age beautifully. (94-96)
Needless to say I will be buying more.
What are you all buying from the vintage? Are you waiting for the pricing to fall more in line with quality or skipping it entirely?

Welcome Adam. I’m done buying young Bordeaux - too old - but still enjoy seeing what people think of the latest vintages. Thanks for the link and for your impressions of the 21 Barton. Sounds like a winner!

I recently had a 2021 La Vielle Cure and was pleasantly satisfied with it. I'm looking to stock up on that one now.

Guys
The 2021 Lagrange St Julien was okay but showed the vintage to be well below 2016 and 2020.
I think pass unless you try first and like the style.
Cheers

I enjoyed the 2021 Talbot, it was restrained, classic, low alcohol. Kind of old school.

I know that JeanFred opened a 2021 Langoa Barton lately, and while ok, it was really marked by the vintage, being light.

One of the merchants here in the UK is offering discounts of up to 49% on the 2021s (Canon and La Mission), 48% on Pichon Lalande and 30-33% on Leoville Barton depending on the format. While I am tempted I am far from ready to dive in because more than anything these discounts reflect how egregiously overpriced these wines were in the first place place. But hats off to J&B for biting the bullet.

2023 vintage is so much better and offers a lot more than 2021.
