Your top ten wine holdings by producer?

Post by Comte Flaneur »

I posted this on the UK wine forum last night and got a huge response, so I thought I would replicate that here. In the UK forum Bordeaux hardly gets a look in and burgundy is clearly king of the castle, with notably strong showings by German riesling, Spanish rioja and some South African wines.

I was definitely an outlier with my top ten - by volume/number of bottles:

1. Leoville Barton
2. La Conseillante
3. Figeac
4. Mouton
5. Lynch Bages
6. Latour
7. Produttori del Barbaresco
8. Ducru Beaucaillou
9. Leoville Lascases
10. Lafite

What is in your top ten?

The way I keep records, it is too hard for me to compute. In Texas only, probably my top four are

1. St Innocent
2. La Lagune
3. Louis Jadot
4. Domaine Drouhin

Harry, Peter Michael just missed my list. I like their chards and Peggy absolutely loves them. Just got a case in today so it would now slot in at #10.

I’ve been buying more white wines than reds at my age. With my diet now, Chardonnay and Riesling fit best

I bought a case of the 2022 Felsina Berindenga chianti, Jon, for $19, it is a more elegantly styled effort than usual but I liked it a lot, Jimmy Suckling and I give it 92+ points, especially when you factor in the QPR.
