The 2019 Chateau Gloria has been uncorked and other ramblings....

Post by JimHow »

Starting an awful strangulation murder trial on Tuesday in Bangor, it is going to be a heavy lift for the defense. One of the worst cases of my career. Court TV wanted to cover it live but the judge applied Maine law, which disallows video of live testimony, so I doubt they'll come up. So I'll be fasting for the next couple weeks, my last chance to drink Bordeaux for a while. I think I'm going to need whiskey after this trial. Let's check in on this 2019 puppy and see how it performs....

What a lovely wine this is. Just very true to St. Julien. It is like a baby LLC. Branaire-like. Beautiful deep ruby color, lovely cassis, cedar, lead pencil. Beautifully balanced. A lovely medium bodied St. Julien beauty. Another great 2019 success. Rating: 94 points.

I bought three bottles of the 2019 Gloria after Neal Martin rated it 96 pts, by far the highest he has rated a Gloria if I am not mistaken.

Jim
Well I have a full case of this (12OWC) so I’m happy to see a positive review.

Cheers

Best Gloria I've ever had, it is a true-to-St.-Julien medium bodied beauty!

Agree with your thoughts on this one - this is a beauty in the making and another proof of the strong 2019 vintage...
All the best for the upcoming trial by the way...
Greetings!
Markus
