50% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cab Franc. 13% abv.
It was as if someone replaced my Bordeaux with Grenache from the south of France.
Deep ruby red color, thin and acidic, tart cherries with a bit of garrigue and pepper.
Slightly bitter, tannic finish.
Well made but not typical of other Haut-Medoc wines I've had.
B+

I can't remember who, but some magazine/newspaper says its one of the prettiest estates, and welcoming for visits.

I've got a bottle of the same 09 on my 'to drink' list as well.

I remember an excellent bottle of 2009 D'Agassac. Neither thin nor acidic or tannic, but opulent and elegant, with excellent concentration and balance.

Perhaps they keep the sharks and alligators in their moat well fed with passing wine critics.

Yeah, thin and acidic does not jive with the vintage, unless this is shut down hard.

Total wine has it at a decent price so I picked up a couple to try out. I'll wait at least a few months to open the second one.AlohaArtakaHoundsong wrote:Yeah, thin and acidic does not jive with the vintage, unless this is shut down hard.
In general I've been more successful finding 2010s that I like, although I have found a few other '09 Crus Bourgeois that have been good in the last couple years.
