2014 Latour

Hi all, I’ve lurked BWE for a few years now, this is my first post. I owe a great debt to BWE for piquing my curiosity in the 2014 vintage, and have enjoyed a number of great bottles with friends as a result; per Decanter and other sources, the 2014 Chateau Latour (Grand Vin) has been released to market. Thus far, Farr and J&B list it on their websites, but as a Yankee, I would rather buy from an American outpost.

Do any of you have any guesses on when American wine dealers will offer this “new” Latour? Any preferred retailers for the East Coast?

Thank you all, and may your Ides of March turn out better than Caesar’s!
Thomas

Welcome, Thomas! And thanks for the lead on 2014 Latour. I'm going to check the NH liquor store system, Gerry and I got some great 2014s at great prices there a couple years ago.

I saw this and for a while I was tempted to dive in for 12 halves at the bargain price of £2500… (still tempted)

But I predict this wine will be a Jim How apotheosis

Welcome Thomas on BWE.

Looking for the 2014 Chateau Latour, as initial post on BWE, can just generate lots of... enthusiast!

I did not had lot of 2014, but Domaine de Chevalier is a superb red wine in the 2014 vintage.

Thanks, all, for the welcome and the info! Probably going to pick up 6 + a magnum, in April.

Nic, I’ve been meaning to check out the 2014 Sociando since reading about it here. To date, the only ‘14 that’s underwhelmed me was, surprisingly, the most recent BWE wine of the year! This could be due more to my having had the ‘14 VCC immediately afterward than anything else. I hope to revisit it, on its own, later this year or next.

I work for a state government agency on the East Coast of the US.
So do I, sort of, as a public defender in Maine. Thus our mutual affinities for the wines of the northern Medoc!

I'm not seeing any signs that 2014 Latour has made its way into the New Hampshire system, but Gerry M is our resident expert in that regard.
