The BWE DC ‘24 convention will be Thursday, October 24 to Sunday October 27, 2024.
I say this in anticipation and hope that Joel and other DC locals will help us set up dinners for at least those Friday and Saturday nights!

Paula and I will miss seeing BWE friends in DC, as well as the great wines. But we will be in Italy on a two month stay.

I've been staying at the Washington Hilton, Michael, to keep my Hilton diamond status.
Marcus and Joel are working on venues, I doubt we'll have to send checks to them.

I'm booked at the Hilton Washington DC Capitol Hill, 525 New Jersey Ave, NW, because I'm a Hilton Diamond member. It seems like an expensive weekend for hotels in DC, this is the least pricey Hilton that weekend. I can cancel up til the day before, nobody should feel obligated to follow suit. I don't think I've ever stayed there so I can't vouch for it, it looks like your basic Hilton.

I'm actually coming in on Wednesday, JF, I have some non-BWE plans on Wednesday and Thursday during the day.
I'm staying at the Hilton Washington DC Capitol Hill, 525 New Jersey Ave., NW (not Capital Hilton).
Anything I do on Thursday night will be pretty low key, I can't usually drink much three nights in a row these days.

We'll arrive Thursday and leave Sunday. I have a use-it-or-lose-it night at Hyatt, so we'll stay at
Hyatt Place/National Mall, 400 E Street SW.
Senior rate there is $297/night for the BWE weekend.

Looking forward to seeing you and Lucie, Stefan, now in our 24th year. Incredible, really, friends together on this crazy little site for a quarter century, through all the travails. Sipping on a 2020 Cantemerle tonight, mmm doggie. Bordeaux -- and BWE -- is as good as it ever was.

Well I have been sipping on some 2009 Billecart-Salmon Cuvee Elisabeth Salmon Rose plus a 2008 and an older Champagne and a few red Burgundies listening to Beethoven’s 9th Symphony at Wolf Trap in Virginia. Tough times!

Confirming that JeanFred, Alex Harvey (he was with us at the 2021 vintage tasting in Montréal, you met him Jim) and me will come in Thursday Oct 24 at 4:00 pm and leaving very early Monday Oct 28 6:00 am.
And JeanFred should confirm we’ll be at the same Hilton as you all.

I'm really pleased with how the BWE DC convention is shaping up!
With the additional DC crew that Joel is rounding up, it sounds like quite a barn burner!
Looks like a critical mass of folks are arriving on Thursday, we'll have to organize something for that night!

Thursday nights we usually do:
Champagne
Bordeaux
Sauternes
Friday nights we usually do anything but Bordeaux except no Burgundy (at least not exclusively). I usually bring a Bordeaux on Friday night anyway because I am a Bordeaux wine enthusiast.

Come on, Friday nights usually feature plenty of Burgundy! (Along with a lot of other stuff -- anything but Bordeaux!)
also Jim I don't recall you ever violating the "anything but Bordeaux" stricture, but those nights are madhouses so I easily could have missed something.

Yes I have been bringing Bordeaux on Friday nights, the only wine region in the world that thrills me. Plus we can't bring all Burgundy because otherwise Michael and Howard won't show up!
