2019 Château de Rochemorin
2019 Château de Rochemorin
A beautiful, dark Pessac-Léognan, bursting with aromas of sweet blackberries and blackcurrants, gentle spices, and vanilla oak—very Bordeaux. The palate is well-structured, with sweet red and purple fruits, slightly austere oak, subtle cocoa notes, good, stony tannins, and a good length. The balance is just right, even with 14.5% alcohol. Young and good. Rated 90.

Sounds nice. I see that Rochemorin is no longer a super bargain, at least in the USA. $35 is the low price for any vintage.

Rochemorin is one of Montesquieu's former estates and has been owned by the Lurtons since the 1980s.
They have 66 hectares of vines (red and white).
It is a very reliable, early-maturing wine that is well distributed in Bordeaux restaurants.
Retail here it sells for under 20 euros.

It is rare that this type of wine is more expensive in the USA than in Québec. It is 33 $cad here (approx. 23 $usd).
It is a very good wine for the price.

I drank a few of those from 2009 and 2010. They drank well young, offered a decent amount of Graves-y typicality, and were terrific QPR at $20-25. I rated them consistently as very good-excellent - sort of a high-80s type score. Glad to hear the 2019 is drinking well.
