Chateau Cos d' Estournel 1988

Not great light in the restaurant but still beautiful mature purple core with light garnet rim. Pretty. Great nose of dark fruits, light cedar in background, slow to open but it does.
The palate was precise supple fruit framed by classic St Est. structure of mature tannins and supporting acidity. Great finish, the best Cos and St Est I can remember.
A classic claret style. It deserves a better post than this. Drink. JM

Great to hear that Chris. If any BWEr has a bottle pop it and let us know, especially Cos fans who can look at it against other vintages. JM
