So my girlfriends teenage niece was over for dinner tonight so I opted for some Pat Lafrieda burgers on the grill. I had pm-ed Marcus earlier in the day as he has found a back up truck price of ~$30/btl for this vintage so I told him I would open one and give him my current impressions.
Decanted and drank over the course of 1 hour. A frangrant nose of cherry fruited licorice, earth, potpourri and tobacco that lead way to a sweet, juicy, medium bodied raspberry and cherry dominated palate that shows good delineation with pepper notes that linger on the finish. A beautifully classic wine from a tough vintage and a definitive notch better than the 2013 which I may have overrated by a point upon further consideration and similar in style to the 2004. 93 points.

Pégau is always excellent in my book. The 2014 is available here at the moment. Don't know yet if i'll buy some, or other CdP, as I don't have any bottles left in the cellar.

I have a bunch of older Pegau. I'll bring one to one of our tastings once I relocate the cellar.

Thanks for posting! Unfortunately you are now undermining my self-control in the face of that $30 price...sigh.
Anyone who wants a line on how to get that price (by the case) PM me. There is plenty to go around.
