TN: 2004 Haut-Brion

Post by salilb »

Decanted a few hours in advance. Obviously incredibly young now but it's already quite compelling and showing a lot of complexity; there's a powerful fragrance of cedar wood and cigar smoke, and layers of dark fruited flavours, dried herbs, savoury earth and cedary elements on the palate. There's impressive balance, finesse and persistence here, though this really needs a lot more time in the cellar - I won't be touching my bottles for several years yet.

Thanks for the notes. I have two bottles of this wine so it is good to know where it's at.

Thanks for taking one for the team Salil. HB is one of my favorites, and I have a few of these resting in the cellar. WIll probably let them sit another 5-10 years or more.
