TN: 1989 Château Lynch-Bages

Post by salilb »

Still very youthful with the fruit very fresh and rich, and some fine grained tannins lurking on the back end, but it's quite accessible now and certainly incredible to smell with a beautiful perfume combining savoury earth, tobacco, graphite and cedarwood aromas around a core of fresh dark fruits. There's a sense of richness and finesse in the mouth, superb balance and while I get the impression this still has a while ahead of it, I'm glad to have another chance to enjoy it now as it's stunning

Me, too! Great note, Salil. I was trying to steer a buddy toward opening an 89 Lynch this weekend, but we opted for PLL instead. A high-class problem... :)
