When President Obama is re-elected!!
Re: When President Romney takes office....
Agreed, he's got to get serious about his policies, and he and his surrogates have to get back to pointing out the unfavourable aspects of a Romney/Repub presidency! I think he can recover, but he's got to focus and he's got to get serious.

Re: When President Romney takes office....
It is so pathetic to watch the Democrats groveling to get the Big Dog out there to campaign for their wimp candidate. The New York Times crowd was shitting all over Bill and Hillary in the primaries back in 2008, but, oh, they forget about that now. To their credit-- because they have no insecurities about the sizes of their penises-- Bill and Hillary are performing the roles of the good soldiers. I still say Big Bill was the greatest president we've had since Kennedy, and if it weren't for Monica, I'd rank him greatest since FDR. Even old man Bush, looking back, is looking good. Big Bill is the ultimate master politician. Those of us who supported Hillary back in '08 should pat ourselves on the back. Picture her in that debate last week. Something tells me it would have been a little different. Obama is such a pussy.

Re: When President Romney takes office....
The problem is that, if George H.W. Bush had won in 1988 (which he did) or 1992 (which he didn't), the system would nonetheless not have collapsed like it has today. And if Bob Dole had won in 1996, things would have been different, but the system wouldn't have collapsed. But starting in 1994 (the Gingrich Revolution) and culminating in 2000 (the election of George W. Bush), and continuing on into this century (Bush re-election, Tea Party, Sarah Palin, Fox News, Romney/Ryan), the stakes of these elections have truly become significant, because of the polarization of the outer fringes that control the parties. I know some take the Naderite position that there are no differences between the two major parties and while I think that's basically true in the military realm, I disagree with that sentiment otherwise. this is a huge election.
Hey, Obama up by 5 points in today's Gallup, 50-45%. I'm hanging my hat on that, and, at least today, can't lower the Obama JHEPI score under 50.

Both men have acquitted themselves very well.
Joe did what his boss should have done last week.
The Kid shows he belongs.
This was more important for the Obama campaign though.

Yeah this would be fun to watch with BWEers, left and right, over a bottle or two of a northern Medoc.

I think Joe played the camera well. Maybe a little too much at the begining.
Ryan is tough.
Doesn't get rattled and as we say in the South " ain't scared".

Re: When President Romney takes office....
Joe 'plugs' Biden held up well tonight...Ryan a budget guy not a foreign policy guy...joe I felt did a bit better except for all that creepy smiling and gestures a bit off-putting
Re: When President Romney takes office....
Yea some of his early gestures were too much.robert goulet wrote:Joe 'plugs' Biden held up well tonight...Ryan a budget guy not a foreign policy guy...joe I felt did a bit better except for all that creepy smiling and gestures a bit off-putting
There was one point where he was gesturing with a pencil with is middle finger extended.
I swear it looked like subliminally he was giving Ryan the finger.
Re: When President Romney takes office....
Ryan did reasonably well, I thought, but Biden was the clear "winner". He did what Obama should have done in the first debate by challenging the false charges and demanding specifics. The Republicans should stay away from the foreign policy attacks. The administration is strong there and Biden made Ryan look like the neophyte he is in the international arena.
