2018 Larose Trintaudon
So I ordered a case of 2016 Larose Trintaudon but they shipped me a case of the 2018.
I was disappointed at first but I decided to give the 2018 a try.
I liked the 2018, Chris, it had great fruit, it wasn't 2018-vintage-over-the-top.
Fresh, fruity, of different character than the 2016 but delicious nonetheless, adhering to the Haut Medoc character that we admire about this very reasonably priced estate at $19 per bottle.
I'm glad I have 11 more bottles as a cellar saver for consumption in upcoming years.
Rating: 92 points.

It has the highest abv of any L-T I've seen, at 14%.
My first bottle showed some character that I didn't notice in the next few bottles. I'm hopeful that it will reappear as the wine matures.

Did the merchant have any explanation for what happened?

No, but he sounded like an honest guy with a thick New Jersey accent, do I just let it go and didn’t give him a negative rating on Winesearcher.

I had this last night and the fruit was too much for me-is that from the petit verdot?

I think they only use Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in the blend.

To me 2018 is the biggest (14%abv), fruitiest vintage of L-T I've had, including '09 & '10.

Agreed, although I enjoyed the 2018, even more than the excellent 2016.

I don't have the bottle in front of me, but I'm pretty sure it has Petit Verdot (the internet agrees).Racer Chris wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 1:19 pm I think they only use Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in the blend.
