Uncorked a '16 Lanessan, watching "history"...
I need some alcohol to get through this fiasco...
I had this Lanessan once and liked it.
This bottle is really nice out of the gate.

This impeachment is bullshit, beat him at the polls
You think it’s bad now, wait until McConnell gets hold of it

Donald Trump is a troll... he is trolling us....
He should be resoundingly voted out of office. Not impeached.
What a bunch of fools we've got down there. A sad day.

The Lanessan has a nice Medoc sternness to it, Emil.
It's almost like unripe but we know it's not unripe.
And the nose is real nice, it jumped right out of the bottle when uncorked.
Not complex, but a solid 90 points and a great QPR, as usual.
Will be excellent for 10-15 years.

Not a huge fan of 2016 Lanessan or Trump. Both poor facsimiles of their predecessors, the worthy 2014 and 2009 Lanessan and Obama vintages. Both exuded class, grace, balance and composure. The others, should be dumped and shunned. Ok I kid, the 2016 Lanessan is not that bad, but it’s definitely a stylistic change to the house. Vote Trump out, kick him straight in his tiny little shriveled nutsack, don’t waste this effort and opportunity impeaching. Meritorious or not, it just doesn’t sell to the unwashed masses. One third doesn’t give one flying fuck, one third doesn’t understand it, and one third, well, I don’t know what that 1/3 does, thinks or says. I’m in an ivory tower drinking the good shit. Let them eat cake. Not Lanessan.

Love, love the 09 Lanessan. I’d call that the ‘best ever’ there, based on my sampling.

I enjoyed a bottle of 2011 Larose Trintaudon tonight. Still very primary but drinking well, and an excellent complement to my turkey soup.
The counterpoint between republican and democrat comments in the House this evening was interesting. I found the comments of Steny Hoyer to be more meaningful than most.
As of a moment ago, Donald J Trump will always be an impeached president.

Its an under $20 bottle of wine ....sounds like it has its purpose in the cellar

My issue with Lanessan has always been "not quite enough stuffing" so it's no surprise that 2009 would be really good, that is the ultimate vintage for an abundance of fruitBlanquito wrote:Love, love the 09 Lanessan. I’d call that the ‘best ever’ there, based on my sampling.

I liked 09 Lanessan a lot, went through a half case pretty quickly. Had the 16 on my wish list at one point but bought Meyney instead.

It’s a fair point, and I too prefer the bigger years, but how much stuffing do you expect for <$20?

I purchased a case of this to try alongside my case of 16 Lagrange after seeing that cool mapping dealie (OK found it https://youtu.be/z8hn_c9v0nQ) someone posted here a while back, which was focused on St. Julien, maybe Gruaud (OK Lagrange actually) , and showed how Lanessan was just south across the jalle from Lagrange. I thought, let's see how much difference a few hundred meters (among other things obviously) makes. An inexpensive and hopefully fun thing to compare at different intervals.

Should be a fun comparison. I love those "infographics." Looks like he’s done several more.
